Job Description BAE Systems is hiring for a Senior Principal II Digital Engineer.At BAE Systems, we deliver a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services. Candidate will provide electrical engineering support to a dynamic engineering development team, working first unit test, design verification test, integration and transition to production tasks on complex Digital circuit cards and modules.The successful candidate must possess strong technical aptitude, communication skills and the ability to independently work cross-functionally within the hardware organization and with other engineering disciplines/functions.This position may include the following activities:Design of complex high speed digital circuit card assembliesLead/Mentor a team of junior engineersSupport test and troubleshooting of systems, modules and sub-assemblies of digital modules, working directly with program engineering personnel as requiredInterface with Engineering, Operations, Quality and other supporting functions to drive defect resolution to root causeGenerate and implement improvements in product and test design and methodologies to reduce cost, increase yield, and improve throughputGenerate and review the technical content of test procedures, drawings, engineering specifications, reports, Engineering Change Orders, and other documentationInterface with governmental customers and suppliers as requiredOnsite visits to vendors to provide technical support to subcontractsProvide training and support to technicians and manufacturing personnel as requiredSupport Root Cause and Corrective Action activitiesMentor peers and more junior engineers in areas of expertise"Required Education, Experience, & Skills A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required25 years of experience in high speed Digital and analog engineering is requiredWorking knowledge of the full life cycle of a product from Proposal to Design to Production is requiredCommunicates clearly and works well in teams is a mustPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience with Gigabit Ethernet, ITA/EIA 232, 422, and 485 protocolsExperience with JTAG, VHDL, processors, memory, ASIC's and FPGA'sPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
