Saab, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who is interested in further developing knowledge in manufacturing technology. The Manufacturing Engineering function is responsible for all the production technical work for assembly and installation, from calculation, production preparation and production of process documentation, to verification. The function is also accountable for manufacturing engineering development, manufacturing techniques, and qualification of new products based on both Saab and customer requirements. The Manufacturing Engineer will be an integral link between the design team and the production team. Responsibilities will include:

  • Execute process planning for current and new products.
  • Improve production flows and layouts using Lean Manufacturing.
  • Drive continuous improvement for efficient production.
  • Develop processes, methods, tooling, fixturing, and production controls for new and existing products and programs, including the use of CAD (SolidWorks).
  • Review design changes and specification changes, ensuring appropriate capture in the manufacturing process(es).
  • Promptly respond to technical issues that arise on the production floor utilizing work instructions, design models, and specifications.
  • Support Failure Analysis, MRB repairs, and special processes as needed.
  • Champion the Company values, consistently demonstrating - Trust, Drive, Expertise, and Support.
  • Able to work extended or flexible schedule to support the business.
  • Other project tasks as assigned.Compensation Range: $75,800-$94,800The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.Skills and Experience:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline is required.2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in energetics and munitions manufacturing.Driven, innovative, and takes initiative without being asked.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills; Six Sigma experience preferred.Ability to effectively collaborate across functional areas within an operation.Ability to work well independently, as well as collaboratively in a team setting.Ability to lead and manage change within a cross-functional setting.Demonstrated effective listening and communication skills.Ability to be principle-based while navigating the constraints of the business.Must be a U.S. citizen.
