Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled GSE Mechanic to join
our team at Signature Flight Support Corporation. As a GSE
Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining
ground support equipment used in operations, troubleshooting and
repairing equipment, and performing routine maintenance tasks.Key
Responsibilities
- Inspect and Maintain Ground Support Equipment: Conduct regular
inspections of ground support equipment to ensure it is in good
working condition, perform routine maintenance tasks, and make
repairs as needed.
- Troubleshoot and Repair Equipment: Use diagnostic techniques
and tools to identify and repair problems with ground support
equipment.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks,
such as checking and servicing equipment with fuel, water, oil, and
hydraulic fluid.
- Diagnose Problems: Use test equipment and applicable manuals to
diagnose problems with ground support equipment.
- Build and Assemble Machines: Build and assemble machines or
mechanical components according to requirements.
- Inspect Machines: Inspect machines, engines, transmissions,
etc., and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality
issues.
- Conduct Repairs: Conduct repairs aiming for maximum
reliability.
- Perform Thorough Maintenance: Perform thorough maintenance on
machinery, equipment, and systems.
- Clean and Lubricate Machinery: Clean and apply lubricants to
machinery components.
- Replenish Fluids and Components: Replenish fluids and
components of engines and machinery.
- Provide Consultation: Provide consultation on correct
maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle
users.
- Keep Logs and Report Issues: Keep logs of work and report on
issues.Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or GED plus one (1) year
experience and/or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- Age: Minimum of 18 years of age.
- Background Checks: Ability to pass background checks (criminal
and motor vehicle), drug tests, receive and maintain issuance of an
airport security badge, and be insurable by the company's insurance
policies.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the
country of employment.
- Prior Experience: Prior GSE or heavy equipment experience
preferred.
- Tools: Must have your own tools.
- Driver's License: Must possess valid driver's license.
- Certification: Certification from a vocational school or
completion of apprenticeship is a definite plus.
- ASE Certification: Valid certification (ASE) preferred.Working
ConditionsCertain functions may be performed in varying weather and
environmental conditions, such as precipitation, extreme
temperatures, jet engine fumes, dust, and noise. The tasks are
performed inside and outside near stationary and moving aircraft
(including spinning propellers and engines).
- Lifting and Moving: Frequently lift and/or move up to 75
pounds.
- Language Skills: Read, write, and fluently speak and understand
the English language.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
- Problem-Solving Ability: A problem-solving ability.
- Physical Strength and Stamina: Very good physical strength and
stamina.
