    About the Role

    • 
      We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with a passion for building at the intersection of AI and software applications. This is a full-stack, senior IC software engineering role. Spara is built with a cutting-edge stack, including OpenAI, Mistral, Pinecone, Langchain, React, etc.
      
      
    • 
      In this role, you will:
      
      • 
        
      • 
        Design and implement Spara's core products, including a proprietary AI engine, buyer interfaces, sales team workflow orchestration platform, and ML model pipeline.
        
        
      • 
        Collaborate with the Head of Software Engineering to define and deliver on the software development roadmap.
        
        
      • 
        Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, especially relating to nascent AI-native application development, to drive innovation and technical excellence.
        
        
      • 
        Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization.
        
        
      • 
        Help mentor other team members.
        
        
      • 
        Report to the Head of Software Engineering.
        
        
        
        
        Qualifications
        
        • 
          
        • 
          8+ years experience architecting and building large-scale software development projects
          
          
        • 
          Substantial experience writing Python backend code and React frontend code.
          
          
        • 
          Strong technical background and understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and technologies across the stack.
          
          
        • 
          Experience working in a lightweight, early-stage environment and helping to define solutions in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity
          
          
        • 
          Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
          
          
        • 
          Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
          
          
        • 
          Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science are nice to have but not a must - We do believe there are excellent developers out there without a college degree in CS.
          
          
        • 
          3 days per week in our Manhattan-based office. We work from home on Fridays.
