- Serve as a Senior Engineer within the Power Electronics
Department based in our Applied Chiller group in New Freedom, PA!
Candidates must be commuting distance, or open to relocation.
- Responsible to design, test, and maintain power electronics
products and systems for Johnson Controls' chiller
applications.
- Determine the best techniques, procedures and/or theories as
they apply to the development of power electronics products and
systems. -
- Create compliance procedures for the development of
electrical/electronic circuitry designs. -
- Define and interpret design specifications; design
electrical/electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements; and
analyzes product design requirements and recommend solutions.

- Prepare and coordinates the release of documentation to support
component design and manufacturing. -
- Participate in all aspects of preliminary design and systems
architecture, and conducts analysis of the cost impacts of proposed
modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application
software. -
- Conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new
applications or major modifications of existing systems. -
- Work with other engineers, designers, and technicians on
specific work assignments.
- Forecast and schedule work activities, and defines processes
for repetitive tasks.
- Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory
issues on the range of power electronics products and systems on
Johnson Controls' chillers.
- Travel to visit customers, Johnson Controls' factories,
vendors, and/or professional conferences as business needsHow you

- Comply with Johnson Controls' Code of Ethics and policies

Controls' tools

- Ability to travel 10% of their time domestic or
internationalWhat we look forRequired
- Master degree on Electrical Engineering with specialization on
Power Electronics
- Minimum 7+ years of industry experience in the field of power
electronics or electrical engineeringPreferred
- Ph.D. degree with focus in Power Electronics
- Strong experience on power electronics controls
- Strong experience on IGBT based inverters
- Strong experience on advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink,
OPAL-RT, Saber#mango
