Director, Payer Value & Outcomes will lead a field-based medical
team, develop the US Medical Affairs engagement strategy for payers
across all therapeutic areas (including pipeline) and work closely
with cross functional partners in the US & Global (HEOR, Medical,
Market Access, Medical Communications) organizations to demonstrate
the value proposition of Jazz medicines enabling optimal patient
access, reimbursement and brand growth. As Jazz continues to evolve
in its assets and R&D capabilities, this team is critical as it
provides the dual-function of in-house payer consultants and
external field-facing medical value experts.Responsibilities:
- Lead a field-based team, build relationships across the
company, and provide insight on the evidence and outcomes needed to
develop value propositions that will be delivered to regional and
national managed care organizations, health care systems,
government payers, and other organizations that are involved with
medication formulary decisions.
- Utilize in-depth managed care knowledge and experience to
provide expertise in delivering value evidence that resonates with
U.S. payers. These interactions result in large scale patient
population decisions and have the potential to impact millions of
patients' lives.
- Guide the strategic direction for the development of quality,
impactful outcomes and value evidence that will be used to inform
payer and institutional decision-makers.
- Ensure that payer needs are taken into consideration regarding
the clinical development plan of the assets in the pipeline (early
and late phase) and ensure appropriate evidence generation plans
are developed.
- Collaborate and, at times, develop resources (disease state
education, payer-focused slide decks, Medicaid testimony, economic
models) to be used in a customer facing role.
- Understand HEOR tactics and assist in the development strategy
for HEOR projects for products in different stages of
development.
- Manage relationships with vendors, as needed, to ensure timely
completion of high-quality projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners. Build strong
relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure continuous and
consistent communication with key internal partners on
activities/projects.
- Implement and execute training for the team and for cross
functional MSL, ARM, payer field, HEOR and other business
partners.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and
regulatory guidelines governing commercial and scientific
interactions with healthcare professionals, payers, advocacy and
other business partners.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in managed care,
payer strategy, outcomes and/or related disciplines; leadership
experience preferred
- In-depth knowledge of US managed market and the biopharma
industry including R&D, clinical, market access, medical
affairs, and commercial
- Demonstrated expertise in value evidence, outcomes research,
health technology assessment, and pharmacoeconomic principles
including AMCP Dossiers, FDAMA 114, and pharmacoeconomic models and
their application to evaluate and deliver the value of
medicines
- Understanding and experience in different access and
reimbursement models, including Part B, Part D and Medicaid
- Ability to effectively operate and lead in a highly matrixed
organization, including excellent interpersonal and management
skills through influencing and reasoning
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication
skills
- Ability to travel up to 50%Required/Preferred Education and
Licenses
- Advanced degree in the health sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD) is
required. An additional Master's degree in business or health

FOR US BASED CANDIDATES ONLYJazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed
to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to
provide employees with total compensation packages that are market
competitive. For this role, the full and complete base pay range
is: $232,000.00 - $348,000.00Individual compensation paid within
this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications,
skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, and other pertinent
factors. The goal is to ensure fair and competitive compensation
aligned with the candidate's expertise and contributions, within
the established pay framework and our Total Compensation
philosophy. Internal equity considerations will also influence
individual base pay decisions. This range will be reviewed on a
regular basis.At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total
compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible
for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation
(depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the
Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as
well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long
