Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel
nursing job in Eagleville, Pennsylvania.Job Description &

an assignment before completing orientation, company shall credit
client for up to 72 hours worked by temporary within the first 4
weeks of the assignment. Should any traveler quit the assignment
before the end of any scheduled shift, company shall credit for all
unworked hours of the shift up to 6 hours. - This will result in
non-billable hours and a loss on the agency side.****COVID VAX
Required****- Psych RN House Supervisor- Nights 36's- 12-hour
shifts: 6:45p-7:15a - Required certifications: BLS, CPI required -
They can certify in CPI onsite. - Required experience: 2 year of
experience in similar setting.- Patient Populations/Common
diagnoses: Large indigent population - Admissions are referred
direct admits. All units are very low violence - people act out but
low violence. Closest ER is 2 hours away. They call 911 if they
have any medical issues. They provide BLS but that's it. Acute has
2 locked acute psych units and 2 medical detox units. They treat
co-occurring, and mental health disorders. INFO FOR UNITS AND STAFF
NURSES- Ratios for staff nurses: No ratios - based on acuity - 1 RN
(prefer 2), 1-2 Psych tech's on each unit. Roughly 15 beds on each
unit. - Will work in 4 units: 2 are Psych & 2 are Detox (see below
for unit descriptions)UNITS:--- Acute Unit 1 - locked, 55 and
older, coed unit, Depression, personality disorders, Schizophrenia.
Medically cleared. Average stay 10-14 days.--- Acute Unit 2 -
Locked, Coed, addiction and psych, medically cleared, 72 hour
holds, some of these are jail or here patients for detox. 10-14 day
average stay.---Detox Unit 1- Medical assisted treatments, must be
comfortable giving suboxone and methadone. less comorbidities.
Average stay 5-7 days.---Detox Unit 2 - Medical assisted
treatments, must be comfortable giving suboxone and methadone. More
medical comorbidities. Minimal medical needs like Diabetics, basic
wound care, Cpap at night. Average stay 5-7 days. Job Duties:
Admissions (no admissions over night), med pass (patients come to
the desk), assessments, leading groups mainly medication education.
Meals are delivered to patients by techs. RN's can assist.
Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have strong communication
skills with multidisciplinary teams- physicians, psychiatrists,
therapists, social workers and addictions counselors. Must be
comfortable with Rehab patients walking the campus. Very low
violence facility. Patients must comply with rules or they are
removed from the facility. Do you ever have IV's on this unit?: No
Charge Nurse 24/7 & do they take patients: Nursing supervisor 24/7
- covers the entire campus - will have another supervisor for rehab
eventually.Do you use physical restraints on this unit?: Yes - Will
use restraints if needed. They have a restraint team - they do
restraint competencies - during orientation and class room sign
off. Patients are typically low violence. They act out but rarely
touch staff. Noncompliant patients are removed from campus. They
have a code white crisis team available. Are there nurse aids or
mental health specialists on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: 1-2 Psych
techs on each unit. Security 24/7 Shifts & Scheduling: 8 or 12's
hours - 12's - 6:45-7:15, 8's - 6:45, 2:45 and 10:45 starts Weekend
Requirement: Every other weekend Holiday Requirement: Rotate in
with perm staffIs there a call or standby requirement?: No Floating
Requirements: Hiring for acute could be reassigned to rehab.
Traveler will be moved first. The process on rehab is the same with
the exception that rehab is easier - no admission, med cart,
assessment notes by exception.Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy scrubs-
white or navy under - tattoos need to be covered- no
nailsUnit/Department specific orientation: 2 daysAdditional Notes:
Communication and compassion are very important for them. Must be a
"doer". The CEO frequently wonders the campus as a "secret shopper"
they have cameras everywhere nurses will be monitored as well - do
not sit around. This is not a high acuity facility. It's a very
easy position but they don't want you to hold up a wall. They are
very dedicated to patients and are looking for highly motivated
travelers. Big on removing stigma on mental health and
