Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in patient care by assisting healthcare providers with both clinical and administrative duties. This role ensures the smooth operation of a medical office or healthcare facility while providing excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and explaining procedures.
Assist physicians and nurses during medical exams and minor procedures.
Collect and prepare lab specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and administer medications as directed.
Conduct EKGs, wound care, and other basic procedures.
Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and general healthcare guidelines.
Maintain and sterilize medical instruments and exam rooms.

Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Certification (CMA) from AAMA, NCCT, NHA, or AMT preferred.
CPR/BLS certification (required or obtained upon hire).
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
