Job Description:

Manage kitchen operations and team at Momofuku Noodle Bar Uptown. Assist in managing the line, ensuring efficient service flow, and mentoring staff. Create new menu items and contribute to the training and disciplining of team members.Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and ensure standard kitchen operating procedures are met
• Supervise culinary team members, training, mentoring, and disciplining staff
• Oversee service, monitoring cooks' progress and flow of service
• Send daily service reports, reservations logs, and HR-related processes
• Support and manage prep for service, ensuring all prep items and recipes are made to standard
• Enforce and train food and equipment safety and sanitation
• Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained and functions properly
• Monitor receiving to ensure all product meets restaurant standards
• Work with the Executive Chef on menu creations and daily specialsRequired Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Junior Sous Chef or equivalent role
  • Ability to independently complete monthly inventory and daily ordering
  • Ability to successfully train new culinary team members on each station
  • General knife handling, food safety & sanitation knowledge
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and high-energy environmentPreferred Qualifications:
    • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef at a comparable restaurant
    • Ability to successfully train new Sous Chefs on all role responsibilities
    • Proven ability to run a high-volume service, including expediting
    • Proven ability to support administrative tasks relating to the back of housePhysical Demands:
