Pastry Cook Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at One White Street, a restaurant in downtown New York City. As a Pastry Cook, you will play a vital role in the restaurant's success by preparing high-quality menu items and specials.Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of food service and storage facilities.
• Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
• Set up workstation with required mise en place, tools, equipment and supplies according to standards
• Check production schedule and pars and establish priority items for the day
• Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides, according to department standards in a time efficient manner
• Restock items that were depleted during the shift
• Communicate with Front of House to manage timing of courses, any guest feedback, etc.
• Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
• Be a team player-support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
• Ensure company policies, procedures and brand standards are always followed.
• Follow Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.Requirements:
  • 1+ years of Pastry Cook experience in a restaurant
  • Food Handler's permit (within 30 days upon hiring)
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50+ pounds
