Job Description:
Pig & Khao - Upper West Side is seeking a highly skilled Sous
Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen
staff, you will be responsible for managing a team of 10 to 15
cooks, hiring and training BOH staff, ordering and maintaining food
costs, creating prep lists for the staff, working with the CDC to
create specials and new menu items, expediting, preparing and
maintaining work station on the line up to 2 shifts a week,
maintaining professional standards, working clean, efficiently, and
with respect for ingredients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a staff of 10 to 15 cooks
- Hire and train BOH staff
- Order and maintain food costs
- Create prep lists for the staff
- Work with the CDC to create specials and new menu items
- Expedite
- Prepare and maintain work station on the line up to 2 shifts a
week
- Maintain professional standards
- Work clean, efficiently, and with respect for ingredients
Requirements:
- Experience working in a professional kitchen as a Jr Sous Chef
for a minimum of 1 year
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, procedures, and
equipment
- Ability to think quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced
environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
