Job Description:

As a Jr Sous Chef at Momofuku, assist in managing the line and ensuring a smooth service flow. Develop skills in mentoring staff and administrative and technical skills, including creating new dishes with the Chefs. Manage prep responsibilities, oversee service, and work with the Executive Chef on menu creations.

  • Monitor and ensure kitchen operating procedures are met.
    
  • Supervise culinary team members, assisting in training and mentoring.
    
  • Support and manage prep responsibilities for service.
    
  • Oversee service and monitor cooks' progress.
    
  • Work with the Executive Chef on menu creations and daily specials.
    
    
    
    
    • 
      
    • Requirements:
      
      • 
        
      • 2 years of experience as a Line Cook, Chef de Partie, or similar role in a high volume, upscale restaurant.
        
      • Proven ability to work each station successfully.
        
      • Ability to train new Line Cooks on each station.
        
      • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a desire to learn and grow.
        
      • General knife handling, food safety, and sanitation knowledge.
        
      • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
        
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
        
        
        
      • Preferred Qualifications:
        
        • 
          
        • Proven ability to run a high volume service, including expediting.
          
        • Ability to complete monthly inventory independently.
          
        • Ability to complete daily, weekly, and monthly ordering.
          
        • Proven dependability and a focus on learning and development.
