Job DescriptionAs a Prepared Foods Department Supervisor at Whole Foods Market, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Prepared Foods team. Your leadership skills and ability to motivate and train team members will be essential in maintaining high standards of retail execution and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities• Supervise and delegate tasks to Prepared Foods team members, ensuring that all team members are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.• Work with the Prepared Foods Trainer to develop and implement training programs that build and sustain a high-performance team and minimize turnover.• Assist in the training of new team members, utilizing learning checklists and training materials to ensure a thorough understanding of prepared foods procedures and policies.• Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated department, adhering to established procedures for opening and closing the department.• Communicate team concerns to the Team Leader and Associate Team Leader, ensuring that all team members are aware of any issues or concerns.• Foster a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale, setting and achieving the highest standards of retail execution.• Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing team members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers, and responding promptly to customer needs and questions.• Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel team members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover, providing timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.• Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market vision and goals, ensuring that all team members are aware of and aligned with the company's mission and values.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies, with a strong understanding of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills, with the ability to teach others in a positive and constructive manner.• Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory, with a demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications, with a strong understanding of business systems and processes.Education and Experience• 12+ months retail experience, with a strong background in team leadership and supervision.• Ability to lift 50 pounds, with a strong physical presence and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
