This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.ResponsibilitiesPrepare Environmental Assessment Statements/Forms, Environmental Impact Statements and similar environmental review documentation, which includes preparing quantitative, qualitative and spatial analyses for the planning-related chapters, including: land use, zoning and public policy; community facilities; open space; socioeconomic conditions; shadows; urban design; and infrastructure.Prepare environmental permitting documentsConduct site visits for various projects to survey land use, urban design, historic resources, and site conditionsConsult and coordinate with regulatory agenciesCoordinate with project team membersSkills and AttributesExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsFast learner, self-motivatedHighly organizedCapable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks concurrentlyStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GISExperience with SketchUp and Adobe Suite a plusQualificationsCandidates must be a current student working towards their BS or master's degree in urban planning/studies, environmental science, public policy, or a related field.Our best estimate of the hourly salary range for this position located in New York is $19/hr - $28/hr. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.VHB does not provide housing for internships.W e are VHB!
