About This Role

As the Senior Project Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing HVAC systems and solutions for large opportunities that help our customers modernize their facilities. Working in a team with a Solutions Salesperson or a Commercial Service Account Manager, you will be responsible for the concept development, energy or engineering analysis and customer success.

This role is a great fit for you excel at building relationships, have outstanding customer service and love working with cross-functional teams. This is the ideal role for those that are adept at assessing and understanding both the immediate and future needs of customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Pre-sale technical and engineering support for complex retrofit (solutions) sales group.
• Develop HVAC systems and solutions using a combination of Carrier equipment and Controls.
• Provide project scope development, concept development and energy or engineering analysis.
• Expand scope of retrofit projects by estimating ROI for the customer.
• Lead development phase including site visits, audits, energy calculations for energy based or financed retrofits. Lead utility rebate discussions.
• Support Account Managers in developing and establishing project installation budgets and preparing the sub-contractor request for quotation's (RFQ) including scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; permitting and bonding requirements.
  Required Qualifications:
  
  • Bachelor's degree and 4+ years' experience in HVAC contracting and/or HVAC design engineering OR High School Diploma and 10+ years' experience in HVAC contracting and/or HVAC design engineering.
  • 1+ year experience in technical sales.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
    
    Preferred Qualifications:
    
    • Working knowledge of cost and savings studies incorporating energy conversation measures (ECM).
    • Working knowledge of energy rebate programs, utility tariffs and utility bill analysis.
    • Ability to audit existing mechanical and building systems and recommend solutions to improve.
    • Understanding of construction methods/practices and ability to communicate with and direct subcontractors in an effort to obtain critical proposal information.
    • Four-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related degree.
    • Ability to work in a highly team-oriented and dynamic environment.
    • Demonstrated strong written, verbal and presentation skills to effectively develop expectations and relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Self-motivated and able to manage many simultaneous projects and responsibilities.
    • Knowledge of sales skills and goal-orientated with strong time management and organizational skills.
    • Understands the customers' decision-making processes including the buyers and influencers.
    • Auto CAD or Visio experience; knowledge of computerized energy simulation tools a plus.
    • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours, as required, including some travel with occasional overnight stays.
    • Understanding of building automation, sequence of operations, energy conservation strategies.
    • Proven ability to cultivate strong relationships with contractors and vendors.

      Pay Range:
      $90,263 - $157,959 Annually
